Chapter 6

 This is 'Tomorrow Part 3'

Hayal got out of bed and went to her own tent. She changed so that she wouldn't go around with blood on her shirt. She wore a purple knee-length top and olive green trousers. She looked nice but ready enough to fight. She got out of her tent and put her sword in her sheath. "Hayal? Where are you going? You know the discussion we had," Emine said, giving her a stern look. "Emine, I've said many times, I'm 19, not 9. I don't need you to be babysitting me." Emine put her hand on Hayal's shoulder, but Hayal shook it off. "No Emine. Not today. I feel that my brother is in danger. I must go." "Then let me come with you! We have the same cause, the same reason for going. I want to go as well. And I am not letting you go. Alone. At all." "Fine. Then stop me from going. I want to do as I please and not what you always have to say. Please, leave me alone!" Hayal argued and stormed off to the stables. She carried a bag with her. Emine ran after her. "Hayal! Where are you going with that bag?" "I don't want to tell you Emine please! Leave me alone!" She got on her horse and galloped away at full speed.

Emine and Hayal's friendship was being wasted, and it was all Emine's fault.

Emine got on her horse and rode off to the port bazaar to tell the Sheikh that Hayal, was possibly, in danger.

"You went to Osman's cave with Hayal without letting me know? Haven't I told you to distance yourself from him, or not talk to him alone, and you disobeyed me? I am disappointed in you, Bala." "Baba, I'm sorry! I should've talked to you before going. A-and I wasn't talking to Osman alone, Hayal was with us," Bala cried. "It's ok, kizim. I know you forgot and were scared and stressed because of Alisar, but please be more careful next time." "Ok," she replied with a sad smile. Suddenly, they heard footsteps and they turned around to see Emine coming. "Emine! Selam Aleykum!" Bala exclaimed, trying her best to stay happy. "Aleykum Selam! Has Hayal come by?" "No, she hasn't. Why?" "I think that Hayal is in danger. Ever since the Mongols attacked our tribe, I've been scared for her. She hasn't dealt with these types of Mongols and, ever since their leader saw her, I'm scared that she will get kidnapped." "Inshallah she won't." "MONGOLS! MONGOLS ARE COMING!" Everyone looked beyond frightened as Kongar came rampaging into the bazaar with his soldiers. They all started to fight bravely but unfortunately, they lost many people. Then suddenly, one of the soldiers dropped down. They all looked back to see Osman and his alps. "Osman! Thank Allah a thousand times!" Bala exclaimed. "Osman!" Kongar grumbled.  They got off their horses and started to fight. After a moment, the Mongols' soldiers immediately doubled. "Bey! We must take everyone and get out of here!" Konur yelled. "I will stay behind and fend them off." "I will stay with you Konur Alp!" Emine shouted. "So will I!" They heard someone say and they all turned around to see Hayal getting off her horse and fighting. Emine looked relieved to see her. Osman took the Sheikh and Bala with his alps, leaving the rest behind, though they were close. "Hayal! Emine! RUN! Save yourselves!" "We're not leaving you like this, Abi. We will fight back with you." Hayal shouted. Suddenly she froze, feeling the same loss of power when she saw Kongar at the tribe. "Emine! Take Hayal and get out of here! She can't do this anymore." Emine obeyed and pulled Hayal by the arm, bringing her back into her senses. "Hayal, what do you think you were doing standing there? You could have gotten killed!" "Let go of me! I am not letting Konur Abi fight all these people by himself," Hayal shouted back and shook off Emine's hand, joining Konur to fight again. Emine followed. Emine suddenly fell by being hit with the hilt of a sword on her back. "Well, we got the Sultan's daughter. Now time to take her!" Kongar said, pointing at Hayal. "You're so weak that you are targeting women? Fight like a man!" Konur said in defense. He gestured to Hayal to run with all her might and she obeyed, running as fast as she could through the back alley, minding her wound. "Commander! She's running away!" one of the soldiers shouted. "Well, what are you waiting for, go after her. And bring her to me. Unharmed!" Kongar yelled. The soldiers nodded and Kongar knocked Konur out. He started tying them both up and taking them away.

Hayal rode back to the cave, disappointed in herself that she couldn't protect her best friend and big brother. When she entered the cave, she saw Bala, Gonca, and the Sheikh. She bowed her head down, in respect and disappointment. "Kizim? Where is Emine?" the Sheikh asked. "Sh-she got taken captive by the Mongols, and Konur Abi told me to run before he got taken as well," she replied, tears starting to come out. "Osman Bey had predicted this would happen," Bala said. "Wait - where is he now?" Hayal asked. "He is gone with his alps to save Konur Alp," he said. "Then I should go after them! They may need my help!" Hayal said and quickly got out of the cave to go help save her friends.

"LET GO OF ME YOU MONGOL FILTH!" Emine screamed at one of the soldiers, who was bringing her to a room at the inn. "You will wait here until Commander Balgay asks for you," the soldier said to her. "I DON'T CARE! LET ME GO!" she replied. The soldier closed to door and Emine immediately started banging on it and screaming. "You think that you can show your power by taking women as captives huh? We will show who has the real power! We will show you the fury of the Kayis! We will show you the fury of Allah! Now GET ME OUT OF HERE!" she screamed, out of breath after she finished. Allah'im, she thought.  Wherever they took Konur Abi, may he be safe and sound. Wherever Boran... Alp is, may he be safe and sound

Osman and his alps were gathered at the center of Sogut to go save Konur. He entered the church building and saw that it was empty. Suddenly, he heard shouting from outside. "OSMAN BEY! IT'S A TRAP! BE CAREFUL!" he heard his alps shouting. Just as he heard them, he heard footsteps. he turned around to see Kongar and a few other soldiers. "Osman! We finally get to go face to face against each other," Kongar said. "Well then come to your death Kongar!" he said back to him and started killing the soldiers around him. Kongar started getting frustrated. Osman knocked him out before he could hit him and climbed up the bell chain and out of the place. He saw his alps being taken away and his morale had gotten low on the sight. He jumped down and got on his horse to leave. Kongar had just woken up, confused and angry. "Soldiers! Find Osman no matter how long it takes you! UNDERSTAND?" he bellowed. All the soldiers bowed their down. He stormed out of the church and went to the inn.

Hayal entered Sogut quietly, looking around to make sure no soldiers can see her. She made her way towards the inn when she immediately heard footsteps behind her. She turned around to see Cerkutay. She let out a small sigh of relief before she fully turned around. "Haaa Cerkutay. Ne istiyorsun?" "Hiçbir şey. What are you doing here?" "None of your business," she said and kicked him hard in the stomach and ran and hid in one of the buildings. She flinched as the wound in her back started hurting. She turned around and immediately hid behind one of the barrels when she saw Kongar from the doorway. Once he moved away a little, she saw Konur and Boran. She gasped and covered her mouth, afraid someone heard her. She peeked out to see Kongar turned around. She wanted to run with all her life, not caring if she got caught. She took the risk, took out her pocket knife and hid it in her sleeve, and ran as fast as she could, not caring about her wound. Kongar and Cerkutay turned around to the sound and ran. Hayal was running from the middle passageway. "AH! She was here the whole time! Soldiers! What are you waiting for? GO AFTER HER!" Kongar bellowed, again. Kongar had slight anger issues because of his past. He has heard many names and has many broken memories. He gets periodically angry because he is confused about life. But he has to put it all aside and fulfill his job. Hayal had circled around the city when she suddenly got an idea. She knew the safest place to be, in the stables next to the alps. She ran as fast as she could towards the stables and went into the little haystack. Everyone turned around in surprise to see a very tired Hayal. "Hayal? What are you doing here?" Boran asked. "I can't explain. Not now. If they ask you where I am, act like you don't know," she said and passed out. "Allah! What did they do to her! I can't believe it! They bothered a small girl this much?" Abdurrahman Gazi said in a low tone. "Eh, you! Have you seen a girl running?" Cerkutay asked. "No, we haven't. The last time we saw one was in the morning. Now get on with your business!" Konur said and spat at them. "Tamam tamam, I was just asking," Cerkutay said with his hands up in defeat and with a puppy dog face on. They walked away just when Hayal woke up. "I'm ok. I played a trick," Hayal whispered. "I knew that they would come here next. So, to save us all, and so that I am not obvious, I played a trick on passing out. Well- not really," she explained. The alps all sighed in relief. "Who came to find me anyway?" she asked. "Cerkutay did. Why? Is something wrong?" Samsa Bey said. "No no. It's just that-" "That what?" Kongar interrupted. Hayal turned around to see him and she looked at him with half terror and half surprise. For some reason, Hayal seemed to notice her feelings when he was around. Fearful, powerless-ness, and a sudden shockwave of electricity. She shook her head and tried to come up with an answer. As if on perfect timing, her wound started to hurt. She curled up into a little ball so low that only the alps could see her behind the haystack. "What happened Hayal bacim? Are you okay?" Konur asked. "Yes, I'm fine. It's just that my wound hurts a little," she replied. Kongar's face immediately softened, knowing the whole scene. He looked away. "What wound?" Boran asked. Kongar turned around to say something but kept the words inside him to avoid humiliation. Hayal didn't say a word. She soon passed out because of the pain. Everyone was silent for a second. "Well. Aren't you going to take her inside and treat her!?" Konur asked. He cared a lot for Hayal and they grew up side by side. "Uhm... yes," Kongar replied uncomfortably. He took Hayal in his arms, waves of relief and comfort washing over his face. He went slowly and wished the moments could last forever.
